The look of Nateete during dry season leaves one wondering!

Nateete is one of the 12 parishes in Lubaga Division with a population of 24,158 people (more females (52.2%) than males (47.8%) characterize the population of Nateete). People living in this area especially the lower parts are badly affected by floods due to the poor drainage systems in the area. This is even worsened by the poor waste management (where toilets are emptied in drainage systems when ever it rains in addition to the garbage that is also dumped in drainage channels.

While it is difficult to feed cows with at least stagnant water in the villages, there is plenty of this stagnant water in people’s homes in Nateete parish as it can be observed in the photos; This daily situation get worse during rain season due to heavy floods that get mixed up with feacal matter and enters in peoples houses. This evetually leads to spread of diseases such as cholera, diarrhea thus over expenditure on medication.
